The Challenge
Leo Cancer Care, an innovative medical technology company dedicated to revolutionising cancer treatment, approached Raybloc with a unique request. Their facility required a bespoke radiation shielded doorset that went beyond standard dimensions and included specialised features. The doorset needed to accommodate heavy lead protection, integrate an over-panel, and incorporate a shelf above the door to fit their operational and equipment needs.

Installation of Customised Radiation Protection Solutions

The Solution
Raybloc provided a leaf and half double doorset that met all the performance requirements for radiation protection while incorporating bespoke construction features.
The door was pre-hung with heavy-duty lift-off hinges for ease of maintenance, fitted with locks, handles, flush bolts (top and bottom), and a door closer for smooth operation. The frame and architrave were manufactured from hardwood with a primer-painted finish, while the doors were finished in a hard-wearing laminate for durability and hygiene.
The inclusion of a door over-panel ensured complete coverage of the wall aperture, while the shelf feature above the door allowed Leo Cancer Care to integrate the solution seamlessly into their specialist workspace. Despite the heavy lead content, the doorset was engineered for reliable operation over its long service life.
