X-ray door finish to match doors throughout hospital – Ash Veneer.
Bespoke hinged fixed screen for operator radiation protection. Hinged screen required for space and easy access into the ultrasound scanning room.
Vision panel of X-ray glass to be added to screen for easy viewing.
The Challenge
Eric Chant required new radiation shielding products to refurbish a room in his veterinary hospital and approached Raybloc X-ray Protection to provide a bespoke solution for him. Following the guidelines of his Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) Eric knew he needed code 3 lead protection – 1.32mm Pb lead equivalence – to provide the required protection for his room.
He also required a bespoke screen to be made to fit the available space, attach to the wall and allow easy, movable access.
The Solution
Raybloc provided a 1.32mmPb (code 3) lead lined single X-ray door set with an Ash Veneer finish to match existing doors as requested. The door was also fitted with a Raybloc flush mounted warning light, and a 150mm x 170mm vision panel.
Working closely with Eric on the space dimensions for the screen location, Raybloc’s expert craftsmen designed a 1.32Pb code 3 lead lined hinged X-ray screen that was fixed to a post added to the existing wall. This allows the movable/easy access the veterinary practice required while taking into account the space constraints, all while providing the best level of quality radiation shielding. The screen has the glass vision panel as requested and was finished in an Altofina Grey.
