Raybloc Unveils Non-Ionising Shielding Solutions at Healthcare Estates 2025

We were proud to return to Healthcare Estates Conference 2025, the UK’s largest annual conference and exhibition for healthcare engineering and estate management, organised by the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM).

This year’s event, themed “Prevention Is Better Than Cure”, provided the perfect stage for us to unveil our latest innovation in non-ionising radiation protection, the Raybloc Faraday Doorset which is part of a complete turnkey Faraday Cage solution, offering integrated copper and magnetic shielding.

Setting a New Standard in Non-Ionising Shielding

Designed specifically for MRI and NMR environments, our Faraday Doorset marks a new benchmark in electromagnetic shielding for healthcare facilities. Constructed with precision-engineered copper for superior attenuation, the door combines functional engineering with aesthetic refinement.

Its custom flush mounted warning light, a first of its kind, drew significant attention throughout the exhibition. The feature exemplifies our commitment to innovation that enhances both safety and usability within healthcare facilities management.

This launch represents a pivotal step in Raybloc’s ongoing mission to support NHS Estates key issues and the wider healthcare engineering community by offering advanced solutions that align with evolving standards for patient safety, compliance, and net zero construction practices.

Showcasing the Sense-X® Range

Alongside our non-ionising solutions, we were also proud to showcase our ionising radiation shielding range, featuring the award nominated Sense X Screen and our flush-mounted warning strip and warning light doorset. These innovations quickly caught the attention of architects and NHS Trust representatives, who praised how the integrated lighting design promotes sensory calmness for radiographers, patients, and supporting staff within diagnostic environments.There were valuable discussions around how the illuminated warning strip has enhanced both the safety and usability of the doorset, with many describing it as a truly unique advancement for modern X-ray and CT room design.

Innovation Through Collaboration

Healthcare Estates remains the largest gathering of estates and facilities management professionals in the UK, and for us, it was an excellent opportunity to network with partners, architects, and healthcare leaders shaping the future of hospital design and specification.
We were delighted to welcome many of our long-standing partners to the stand, including M&O Group, Imaging Matters, TClarke, Canon, Darwin Group, Trovex, Modus Building Services, HKS Architects, Apollo Building Services, and Forth Group. Their continued collaboration plays a vital role in advancing healthcare infrastructure and engineering services across the country.
In addition to unveiling our Faraday range, we also introduced our new concrete shielding solutions, designed to deliver heavy-duty radiation protection while reducing costs for healthcare estates and modular builds.
