Our FD30 and FD60 fire doors are tested under the heating and pressure conditions of BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018. Fire-rated doors and frames incorporate essential features such as drop-down smoke seals and door closers and have even been tested with our flush mounted warning lights, ensuring compliance with both fire safety and X ray protection.

Raybloc’s x-ray lead doors are manufactured to fit your structural opening dimensions precisely, including hinged single doors, unequal pairs, double doors, as well as sliding lead-lined doors. All hinged Xray room doors come with a leaded door leaf, leaded frame, and two sets of architraves, one of which is leaded for the controlled area side.
X Ray Protection Lead Lined Door Types and Options
Lead Lined Single X-Ray Door
These lined-lined doors provide full Xray protection by overlapping the lead in the door leaf with the lead-lined frame and architraves, creating a complete barrier to ionising radiation.
Lead Lined Double X-Ray Doors and Unequal Pair Doors
Rebated Meeting Stiles: Robust and sleek, rebated stiles integrate the lead overlap into the door leaves, reducing maintenance and shielding risks. This is achieved by incorporating concealed lead into the hardwood lipping that frames the door leaf.
Astragal Meeting Stiles: Generally only specified for PVC encapsulated doorsets, astragal meeting stiles are effective for lead protection but more prone to wear in high-traffic areas. Ideal for areas where aesthetics or budget constraints may be a consideration.
Sliding Lead Lined Door Leaves
Sliding doors offer space efficiency while screening against X-rays. The leaded leaf overlaps the surrounding walls to ensure complete coverage across the opening. Sliding lead lined X-ray protective doors are supplied and installed with heavy-duty sliding door gears and tracks.
Fire Rated X-Ray Doors (FD30/FD60)
Raybloc X-ray protective fire doors are expertly tested by WarringtonFire to comply with fire resistance standards while maintaining their primary role as X ray and gamma protection barriers. These fire-rated doors incorporate drop-down smoke seals and heavy-duty door closers and can even include glazing and our signature flush-mounted warning signs to suit your facility’s specific needs. Primary fire test evidence is available at request.
Leaded Frames
As a standard, Raybloc® Lead-Lined Doors will come complete with rebated hardwood leaded frames, which can either be primer painted, completely PVC wrapped, or left with an exposed timber finish to suit the architectural requirements of your facility. These frames are extensively tested annually by Radiation Protection Advisers to ensure complete X-ray protection from all incident angles of radiation and compliance with the most up-to-date standards. Every x-ray leaded door is pre-hung on its respective frame at our facility before being delivered and installed to ensure a perfect fit on-site the first time, every time.
Much like our hardwood frames, steel frames are lead lined to ensure no radiation leakage, providing secure overlap between the wall, frame, and door. Available in stainless steel or powder-coated colours to suit the decor of any radiation-controlled area. These frames boast hygiene and durability making them an excellent choice for high-traffic areas while maintaining clean, sleek designs.
Vision Panel Lead Glazing
All of our vision panels contain X-ray protective lead glass, which provides a consistent radiation barrier across the viewing panel and into the door leaf. Our vision panels are available with a beaded fit (hardwood or PVC) or as flush triple-glazed panels for enhanced hygiene.
