Raybloc at IHEEM Wales Regional Conference 2025: Insights on Net Zero, Innovation, and Industry Collaboration
On the 7th and 8th of May, Raybloc’s Head of Business Development, Max Haydon, attended the IHEEM Wales Regional Conference, Exhibition and Gala Awards at the International Conference Centre at (ICC), Newport, South Wales.

The two-day event, themed ‘Pioneering Estates for Tomorrow’, brought together leaders from NHS Wales, IHEEM, and industry to discuss key challenges facing healthcare estates – from Net Zero targets to operational management and digital innovation.
Highlights of the event:

✔️ The evolving challenges of operational management
Raybloc attended to staying aligned with the industry’s direction, particularly around: The urgent need for NHS Trusts to decarbonise, and its overall impact on the industry from vehicle fleets to hospital infrastructure.
The event also touched upon the role of supply chain manufacturers in enabling such changes that cater to sustainability. The discussions revolved around the significance of using energy-efficient materials, sustainable sourcing, and adaptive design thinking to drive our hospitals toward Net Zero.
The panel also focused on the ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between technological innovation and practical implementation across NHS estates.
The conference featured powerful insights from organisations such as NHS Wales SSP, Swansea University, and multiple NHS Trusts, creating an open forum to share challenges and solutions across the sector.
One of the key takeaways for us was the growing emphasis on how manufacturers like Raybloc, have an increasing responsibility to support NHS targets through sustainable materials, low-energy solutions, and better integration with future-forward estate planning, all of which we continue to act on.
For Raybloc, the event offered the perfect opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with NHS Trusts, architects, and contractors – and to reinforce our commitment to supporting the future of safe, sustainable healthcare environments.
The event also allowed Raybloc to network with industry experts and discuss ongoing and upcoming projects such as the incredible Velindre Cancer Centre.
